Melissa Wahe

From a young age, Melissa’s passion for cars was undeniable. With a fervent curiosity, she delved into learning all things automotive and immersing herself in mechanics and design. While pursuing her Masters degree in social work, she frequented local garages to absorb as much information as possible.

It was within those grease-stained walls that Melissa unearthed an opportunity to not only indulge in her love for cars but also to refine her driving skills. Enrolling in specialized classes, she honed her abilities not just for racing her Subaru WRX in autocross events but also for gracefully maneuvering her Nissan 350 Z on the track, turning her everyday driving into an art form. As she continued to pursue her dream, she couldn’t help but notice the absence of women on the course and in the automotive world in general. She often felt dismissed, ignored, overlooked and alone. Watching and learning from others, it was clear that there was a need for classes tailored for women, a safe space that addressed the basics of car maintenance and care. She saw the importance of being self-sufficient when it came to women and their vehicles. Out of this need, CarmaCare was born.

Melissa has held at-capacity workshops throughout California and Denver where she has educated hundreds of drivers.

Empowered under the hood.

My grandfather taught me how to change my oil, tires, and brake pads — not just car maintenance, but a message: you can take care of yourself. That feeling of power stuck with me for life.

From garage grit to public relations.

With a degree in Communications & PR, I built my path around storytelling, trend-spotting, and designing spaces that lift people up.
